This washbasin stand is constructed of cypress wood in Ming style. Two beautiful Linzhi pattern ornaments are round carved in tooth hang style at the shelf top. It has five legs with a windmill pattern staff providing strength and stability for the basin holder. Low relief grass line pattern and open carved dragon pattern aprons are well connected in between five legs in the ‘recessed-leg’ technique. Slim lines cut on the legs are simple and elegant. Patina of original dark red lacquer adds beauty to this piece. It is not just a practical washbasin stand, but it is an architectural art for its proper proportion of complication and simplicity. What unique craftsmanship!
